Island, Art District and Good Vibes

If you guys have never been to Kaohsiung you definitely should. It’s still a city but it’s less hectic than Taipei. And if you ever feel like you need to get away for some peace, Cijin Island, which is a 5 minutes ferry ride away from mainland, is a great place to be at.

Spent a day going to Pier 2 Art District (駁二藝術特區) and Cijin Island last week and here’s some photos to sum up the whole day!

Pier 2 Art District
I really enjoyed this place because everything is full of artsy stuff. Even the smallest things like the electrical point / zebra crossing are full of art! From what I know, there are art events hosted there occasionally too. edit17edit19edit20edit21edit4edit6.jpgedit1edit2edit18edit5edit6edit7edit8edit14edit9

Cijin Island
From Pier 2 Art District, we walked to Gushan Ferry Pier to take the ferry to Cijin Island. It’s a small island but it’s a great place for cycling, hiking and to watch the sunset!

Honestly, it’s pretty easy to get around Kaohsiung with the subway cos there are only 2 lines. And the key attractions are all stated on the exits of the subways.
