The view from where i stayed at in pokhara

20150321_174536It’s been 3 months since I came back from Nepal, and I finally decided I shall write about this amazing city. For those who don’t know, Nepal is a country located at the North of India and just below China. Why do people keep thinking Nepal is part of India? It’s not. hahahaha

Pokhara is the city in Nepal which is famous for the outdoor activities such as trekking, white water rafting and paragliding. The most prominent part of Pokhara is Lakeside. Lakeside is the area where most foreigners hangout at because of the variety of bars and restaurants there. Besides, it is literally by the lake, Phewa Tal.

So, out of ALL the outdoor sports I could have done in Nepal, i only went trekking. When I travel, I tend to relax a little too much. So, my days in Pokhara (besides trekking and hiking) were mostly chilling at bars in Lakeside, learning the bike and drums. For those who are interested in paragliding in Nepal, it cost around 10,000NPR (140SGD) for the flight and the video of your flight. I heard that paragliding in Nepal is one of the, if not, the cheapest in the world.

I stayed 1.5 months in Pokhara, and if you ask me, I would say a month is enough. Unless you are like me, and all you want to do is chill and relax all day, every day.

From Lakeside to the World Peace Pagoda, it takes a 30 mins boat ride and a short hike up the hill. Maybe it’s not a long hike but it definitely is a tiring one. I am not sure whether it’s because of the steep hill or the fact that I am a pig. I think it’s the latter.

Sunrise in Pokhara. Stayed up so late (or early) one night and saw the sunrise. IMG_3080

Till now, I am still amazed when I see animals, besides dogs and cats, on the streets. Why do we not have elephants and buffalos and horses on the streets of Singapore?

Chaat is the best Indian food on Earth. I have to eat Chaat at least once a week. And guess what? It only cost 50NPR a plate. That’s 70 cents. 20150326_150534
All in all, Nepal is a really great place to relax, meditate and do yoga. Besides that, booze is pretty cheap too. I really wish to go to Nepal again, and this time, I will head on down to India as well. I wonder if my India visa is still valid after so long.
